The San Diego Padres and the Texas Rangers face off on Wednesday in game three of their MLB interleague series.
The San Diego Padres rallied several times on Tuesday but they came up short and lost to the Rangers. Matt Kemp had three hits including a home run, Brett Wallace had three hits, and Yangervis Solarte had two hits as the Padres scored six runs on 14 hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out four over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Marc Rzepczynski took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Padres start Ian Kennedy who has allowed 125 hits and 59 earned runs while striking out 130 over 134.2 innings for an 8-12 record and a 3.94 ERA.

The Texas Rangers bounced back from Monday’s loss to beat the Padres on Tuesday. Prince Fielder hit a home run, Shin-Soo Choo had two hits, and Adrian Beltre had two hits as the Rangers scored eight runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo allowed six hits and four runs while striking out two over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Ross Ohlendorf got the win. For Wednesday’s game the Rangers start Cole Hamels who has allowed 33 hits and 15 earned runs while striking out 33 over 34.2 innings for a 2-1 record and a 3.89 ERA.
San Diego is 6-2 in their last eight home games, 5-12 in their last 17 games as a home underdog, and 2-5 in Kennedy’s last seven interleague starts. Texas is 7-0 in their last seven games as a favorite, 5-1 in their last six games, and 1-4 in their last five games as a road favorite.
While total is set at 6.5 to me it looks like a sucker bet as my free pick is the over.
