The Atlanta Braves begin a weekend series in the Nation’s Capital versus the Washington Nationals.
Even though the Atlanta Braves are not going anywhere in the National League East they still want to win games. The Braves fell to Miami 7-3 on Wednesday and have lost eleven of 12 with both the arms and bats struggling. Starter Williams Perez gave up six runs (four earned) on nine hits over five innings. The Bravos posted five hits and walked five times with Hector Olivera driving in a pair while Adonis Garcia doubled in a run. Matt Wisler toes the rubber against the Nationals for the third time on the season. Wisler is coming off of a 3-1 loss to the Yankees with a pair of runs allowed on four hits and four BB over six frames.

The Washington Nationals need to win consistently going forward or they won’t see the postseason. The Nationals snapped a two game skid with a 4-3 win at St Louis on Wednesday night. Starter Max Scherzer allowed a pair of runs on eleven hits through six innings with six relievers holding the Redbirds scoreless. The Nats logged eight hits and walked twice with Ryan Zimmerman clubbing a pair of homers and knocking in three while Jayson Werth also went deep. Jordan Zimmerman toes the rubber versus the visiting Braves for 5th time in 2015. Zimmerman comes off a 5-1 victory versus the Marlins with the lone run plated on seven hits over seven innings.
The over is 6-2 in Atlanta’s last 8 road games while the Braves are 16-46 in their last 62 road games and are 14-38 in their last 52 overall. The over is 13-3-3 in Washington’s last 19 home games and is 7-2-2 in their last 11 overall while going 7-2-2 in their last 11 on grass. Atlanta are 2-9 in the last 11 meetings. I absolutely hate the big chalk on Washington because frankly they are way over rated…
