The Toronto Blue Jays look to stretch their lead in the AL East with the Baltimore Orioles in town.
The Baltimore Oriole have taken themselves from a playoff contender to one fighting to reach .500. The Orioles have won consecutive contests after routing Toronto 10-2 on Friday. Ubaldo Jimenez got the win with both runs plated over 5.2 frames. The bats totaled 13 hits and rode the long ball with Chris Davis going deep twice while Matt Wieters and Adam Jones also leaving the yard. Mike Wright gets his second crack against the heavy hitting Blue Jays on Saturday. In six starts this season Wright has gone 2-3 with an ERA just south of five in 30.2 innings of work.

The white hot Toronto Blue Jays are trying to stretch their lead in the East and have been doing their part. The Blue Jays had won eight of ten before neither the arms or bats showed up in Friday’s defeat. Starter Drew Hutchison was charged with six runs on nine hits including three homers through five innings to fall to 13-3. The Jays logged eight hits and seven free passes with Josh Donaldson knocking in a run while Chris Colabello and Ryan Goins scoring. Left hander David Price toes the rubber against the visiting Orioles in game two of their series. Price has been outstanding in 2015 with a 13-5 mark and 2.47 ERA covering 27 starts.
I don’t think the trends matter so much here with the way the Orioles struggling in a big. Way. The question is are they going to go on a hot streak right now and hurt the Blue jays first place standing. I have to Price the edge on the mound although the chalk is sickening…
