The Washington Nationals are heating upright now to keep them in the National League East race. The Nationals have won eight of eleven after an 8-4 win against visiting Atlanta on Sunday. Joe Ross was charged with all four runs on five hits and three BB through 4.2 frames before five relievers put up zeros. The Nats totaled nine hits and walked four times with Jayson Werth smacking a three run homer while Anthony Rendon and Bryce Harper connected on solo bombs. The Nationals are slated to start Max Scherzer for game one of the series with the Mets. Scherzer comes off of a 4-3 win at St Louis where he gave up two runs on eleven hits while whiffing ten in six innings.
The Mets are 8-1 in their last 9 road games and are 13-3 in their last 16 Monday games while the over is 17-4-1 in their last 22 road games. The over is 15-4-3 in Washington’s last 22 home games. New York are 22-51 in the last 73 meetings. Every time I put too much faith in Washington they fall on their face so take this with a grain of salt…
