The New York Mets look to extend their lead in the East with a win at the Atlanta Braves.

The New York Mets have been refusing to yield ground in the National League East and completed a three game sweep at Washington Wednesday with a 5-3 victory. Starter Jacob deGrom allowed two runs on five hits and whiffed nine over seven frames to get the win. New York rode the long ball with Yoenis Cespedes going deep and driving in two while Kelly Johnson and Travis d’Arnaud went solo. Veteran Bartolo Colon looks to continue his torrid work on the mound versus the Braves. Colon has not allowed a run in three straight starts covering 24 innings of work.

Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets - 9/10/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Atlanta Braves have been slumping where neither the arms or bats getting on the same page.  The Braves had lost eleven of 12 before getting strong performances in all phases with Wednesday’s 8-1 win at Philadelphia. Starter Julio Teheran allowed the lone run on four hits and a pair of BB through seven innings to get the win. The Bravos pounded Phillies pitching for 18 hits and six walks  with Christian Bethancourt going solo and scoring twice while Freddie Freeman and Michael Bourne knocked in two runs apiece. Shelby Miller toes the rubber in the series opener against the rival Mets on Thursday. Miller struggled last time out in an 8-2 loss at Washington where he gave up seven runs on seven hits over 4.1 frames.

New York are 10-2 in their last 12 road games and the over is 17-5 in their  last 22 overall while going  17-5 in their last 22 on grass. Atlanta are 0-8 in their last 8 home games and  are 13-42 in their last 55 overall while going  13-40 in their last 53 games on grass. The over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings. Colon will not keep throwing shutouts and Miller is the better hurler but I’ll back the first place squad…
