The Los Angeles Dodgers visit Chase Field to face the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been making themselves difficult to catch in the National League West with wins in eight of ten although they are coming off of a 3-2 loss at the Angels on Wednesday. Starter Joe Wieland gave up two runs on four hits over four frames for a no decision with Luis Avilan getting the loss with a run allowed in the 8th. The Dodgers managed four hits and walked three times with Scott Scheiber smacking a solo homer while Chase Utley driving in Joc Pederson. The Dodgers send Alex Wood to the bump for the series opener at Chase Field. Wood is coming off of a 2-0 win at San Diego where he gave up three hits and four BB in seven scoreless frames.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are probably not going to the postseason but after taking two of three from San Francisco they have a chance to throw a Monkey Wrench in to the playoff drive of the Dodgers. The Diamondbacks come off of a 2-1 win versus the rival Giants on Wednesday behind outstanding work on the mound. Starter Zack Godley gave up the lone run through five innings of work with five relievers putting up zeros. The offense consisted of seven hits and two walks with Jarrod Saltalamacchia cracking a two run bomb that scored David Peralta. The Diamondbacks hand the ball to Robbie Ray who sees Los Angeles for the third time in 2015. Ray absorbed a 2-0 loss at the Cubs the last time out with both runs plated over five innings.
Los Angeles are 13-3 in their last 16 overall and are 13-3 in their last 16 games on grass while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 Friday games. Arizona are 3-8 in their last 11 home games and the under is 6-1-1 in Ray’s last 8 on grass while the under is 6-1-1 in Ray’s last 8 starts overall. The Dodgers are 25-7 in the last 32 meetings and 12-5 in the last 17 meetings in Arizona. I’m not a fan of the Dodgers on the road but I think they have a small edge here…
