Baltimore Orioles vs. Kansas City Royals - 9/11/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Royals have run away with the American League Central and even though they haven’t been playing their best baseball of late they have the best record in the American League. The Royals are 3-7 in their last 10 games, 35-29 on the road, and they have an 11 game lead in the AL Central. As a team the Royals are hitting .271 with Lorenzo Cain hitting .312, Eric Hosmer hitting .309, and Kendrys Morales hitting .291. The Royals pitching staff has an ERA of 3.67 with the starters at 4.36 and the bullpen at 2.48. For game one against the Orioles the Royals start Danny Duffy who has allowed 124 hits and 56 earned runs while striking out 79 over 121 innings for a 7-7 record and a 4.17 ERA.

Baltimore is 5-15 in their last 20 games, 7-3 in their last 10 games following an off day, and 0-4 in Wright’s last four starts. Kansas City is 7-2 in their last nine games against the American League East, 1-5 in their last six games, and 7-3 in Duffy’s last 10 starts following a loss in their previous game. Kansas City has won nine of their last 10 games against Baltimore.

Neither of these teams are playing well enough for me to feel overly confident so I will take the Royals as they are just the better team.
