The Baltimore Orioles shoot for another win against the Kansas City Royals in Sunday action.
The Kansas City Royals are trying to wrap up the American League Central but the past few weeks have not been kind. The Royals had dropped seven of ten before erupting for a 14-6 win at Baltimore on Saturday. Yordano Ventura gave up four runs on eight hits over 5.2 frames with Luke Hochevar allowing two more which was easily good enough with the bats exploding for 14 hits and five walks. Mike Moustakas clubbed a pair of homers and drove in nine while scoring three times with Salvador Perez driving in three. The Royals are hoping Johnny Cueto can right the ship when he faces the Orioles on Sunday. Cueto has been slumping the last four times out with 21 runs allowed on 37 hits over 20 innings.

The Orioles three game winning streak came to end Saturday with the work on the mound not holding up their end of the bargain. Starter Chris Tillman gave up four runs through 5.1 innings with TJ McFarland allowing five. The O’s offense smacked out eleven hits and walked six times with Adam Jones cracking a three run homer while Nolan Reiimold went deep and drove in a pair. Right hander Wei-Yin Chen opposes visiting Kansas City for the second time on the year. Chen has had problems the past two times out with nine runs given up on 18 hits including four homers in 9.2 frames.
Kansas City are 8-3 in their last 11 Sunday games and the over is 10-4-3 in their last 17 on grass. The St Louis Cardinals hope to leave Great American Ball Park with a win against the Cincinnati Reds. Baltimore are 2-6 in their last 8 home games and are 6-15 in the last 21 overall while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 overall. Kansas City are 9-2 in the last 11 meetings. I think both guys are susceptible to giving up runs so I’ll try the over…
