The Pittsburgh Pirates look to stay in the Central race with another win against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Milwaukee Brewers were hot a few short weeks ago and look to get hot once again. The Brewers had lost three of four before falling at Pittsburgh 10-2 on Saturday night. Starter Zach Davies was charged with six runs on six hits and five free passes over 3.2 frames with Cesar Jimenez allowing four runs in the 7th. A six hit, three walk attack wasn’t enough with Ryan Braun driving in a run and scoring while Luis Sardina knocked in a run. Taylor Jungmann makes his 4th start of the season against the Pirates on Sunday. Jungmann comes off of a 6-4 loss at Miami where he allowed all six runs on seven hits in 3.2 frames.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are heating up again as they try to track down the Cardinals. The Pirates have now won four of five following Saturday’s victory where both the arms and bats were outstanding. Starter Jeff Locke upped his record to 8-10 with a run scored through 6.1 frames. The Buccos racked up eleven hits and walked eight times with Michael Morse smacking a pinch grand slam while Aramis Ramirez drove in two and scored. Left hander Francisco Liriano toes the rubber against the visiting Brewers for the third time. Liriano defeated Cincinnati in his last outing with six shutout innings in a 7-3 decision.
