The Cleveland Indians welcome the Central leading Kansas City Royals to Progressive Field.
The Kansas City Royals are looking to wrap up the American League Central but they have been in a bit of a funk lately. The Royals funk continued in Sunday night’s 8-2 defeat at Baltimore for their 7th loss in nine contests. Starter Johnny Cueto’s struggles continued with eight runs plated on eleven hits including four long balls over 6.1 innings and my guess is the Royals would love to give him back to Cincinnati because he has been awful. The offense couldn’t keep up on a seven hit attack that featured two RBI’s off the bat of Salvador Perez. Edinson Volquez shoots for consecutive victories when he opposes Cleveland for the third time in 2015. Volquez defeated Minnesota 4-2 last time out with both runs allowed on six hits in seven frames.

The Cleveland Indians are still harboring hopes of reaching .500 but need to continue their recent hot streak. The Indians had won four of five before dropping a 9-5 decision to the Tigers on Sunday night. Starter Trevor Bauer was charged with six runs on seven hits through three innings to get the loss. The Tribe attack consisted of five hits and seven walks with Ryan Rayburn and Giovanny Urshela driving in runs. The Indians send Carlos Carrasco gets his second straight start since coming off of the disabled list. Carrasco struggled in his first outing with four runs plated on four hits over 2.2 innings.
The over is 9-3-3 in Kansa City’s last 15 Monday games while the Royals are 2-6 in their last 8 overall and are 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass. Cleveland are 10-1 in their last 11 home games and are 10-2 in their last 12 games on grass while going 5-17 in their last 22 Monday games. The over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Cleveland and is 10-3-1 in the last 14 meetings. The problem I have here is I don’t know what to expect from Carrasco who didn’t look 100%. I likely won’t touch this…
