The Minnesota Twins were unable to follow up on Monday’s win as they lost to the Tigers on Tuesday. Aaron Hicks had two hits and Joe Mauer and Trevor Plouffe each had hits as the Twins scored four runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Phil Hughes allowed six hits and three runs while striking out four over 3.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 10-9 for the season. Minnesota is 6-0 against a left-handed starter, 8-4 in their last 12 home games against a team with a losing record, and 4-0 in Santana’s last four starts. Detroit is 8-19 against a right-handed starter, 1-7 in game three of a series, and 2-7 against a team with a winning record. Detroit is 1-4 in their last five games in Minnesota.
The total in this one is set at 8.5 and I see this one staying under that number. My stronger pick is on the winning team and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as the App.
