The Chicago White Sox collide with the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in game one of their twin bill Monday.
The Chicago White Sox have been struggling to get both their pitching and hitting on the same page and that has hurt them in the win column. That trend continued in a 6-3 loss at Progressive Field on Sunday to saddle the team with defeats in seven of eleven. Starter John Danks gave up three runs over five frame to fall to 7-13 while Zach Putnam allowed three more runs. Chicago’s seven hit, four walk attack fell short with Jose Abreu driving in two runs while Alexei Ramirez knocked in the other run. The White Sox are hoping Jeff Samardzija can reverse his struggles when he faces the division rival Tigers. Samardzija has been getting hit hard with a 9-13 record with a 5.27 ERA.

The bats managed seven hits and three walks with Miguel Cabrera driving in a run and scoring while Victor Martinez and Nick Castellanos recorded RBI’s. The Tigers hand the ball to rookie Kyle Ryan against the White Sox for just start number five on the season. Overall Ryan has logged a 2-3 record and 5.32 ERA with a 1.55 WHIP.
The over is 18-7-1 in Chicago’s last 26 road games and is 35-14-2 in their last 51 overall while going35-14-2 in their last 51 on grass. The White Sox are 13-33 in the last 46 meetings in Detroit. The numbers point to the over with Samardzija struggling for awhile…
