The Line: Boston Red Sox / Baltimore Orioles --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Baltimore Orioles hope to keep their slim playoff hopes alive with a win against the Boston Red Sox.
The Baltimore Orioles have been keeping their postseason hopes alive although their fate is not in their hands. The Orioles had won seven of ten before falling at Fenway Park 7-0 on Friday. Starter Kevin Gausman fell to 3-7 with five runs scored on five hits and three BB over five frames. That was far too much for the offense to contend with on a pair of singles and a base on balls as the team never threatened.Left hander Wei-Yin Chen gets the ball in game two of the series at the Red Sox Saturday. Chen has been strong the past two times out with three runs allowed on 12 hits in 14 frames.

The Boston Red Sox are heading in to the off season looking for answers to improve the team for 2016. The Red Sox ended a three game skid with dominant efforts in all areas. Starter Rich Hill tossed a complete game two hitter to up his record to 2-0. The offense made sure that performance wasn’t wasted on a nine hit, three walk attack that saw David Ortiz go 3-4 with three RBI’s and a run while Brock Holt went 2-3 with a run and two more runs driven in. Left hander Craig Breslow makes his first career start against the Orioles on Saturday. Breslow has worked exclusively out of the pen with an 0-3 record and 4.53 ERA in 55.2 innings.
The over is 6-2-1 in Baltimore’s last 9 on grass and the under is 37-17-3 in their last 57 Saturday games while the under is 14-5-2 in Chen’s last 21 road starts. The over is 6-1-1 in Boston’s last 8 Saturday games and is 21-9-1 in their last 31 home games while going 36-17-2 in their last 55 on grass. Baltimore are 9-2 in the last 11 meetings and are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Boston. I have no idea what to expect from Breslow so use caution…
