The Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians face off on Saturday at Kauffman Stadium in game two of their MLB series.
The Kansas City Royals looked hung over after closing out the American League Central on Thursday as they lost to the Indians on Friday. Alex Rios had the Royals only hit and Christian Colon and Drew Butera reached via walk as the Royals didn’t score. Starting pitcher Edinson Volquez allowed four hits and three runs while striking out seven over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 13-9 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Royals start Kris Medlen who has allowed 43 hits and 19 earned runs while striking out 32 over 48.2 innings for a 5-1 record and a 3.51 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians jumped out to an early lead on Friday and they never looked back as they beat the Royals. Jose Ramirez, Abraham Almonte, and Roberto Perez each hit home runs as the INDIANS SCORED six runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco allowed just one hit and struck out 15 for the complete game shutout win to raise his record to 14-11. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Josh Tomlin who has allowed 35 hits and 15 earned runs while striking out 52 over 55.2 innings for a 6-2 record and a 2.43 ERA.
Kansas City is 4-1 in their last five game two of a series, 27-14 in their last 41 home games, and 5-9 in their last 14 games against the AL Central. Cleveland is 1-4 in their last five Saturday games, 1-6 in game two of a series, and 6-1 in Tomlin’s last seven starts. Cleveland is 8-3 in their last 11 games in Kansas City.
I am not expecting much from the Royals and this should be a good one so it’s a lean to the Indians but I also like the under.
