The Rays saw a three game winning streak end in a 5-3 defeat at the Rogers Centre on Friday. Starter Jake Ordorizzi dropped to 8-9 with four runs given up on seven hits and three BB over five innings. The Rays offense mustered five hits with JP Arencibia going solo while Asdrubal Cabrera connected on a sacrifice fly. The Toronto Blue Jays are playing .500 baseball the last few weeks and that has to change if they want to sew up the East. The Blue Jays took another step in the right direction Friday and have won consecutive contests. RA Dickey had his knuckleball working with two runs plated on four hits through seven frames to even his record at 11-11. The Jays logged ten hits and walked six times that featured solo homers from Josh Donaldson, Kevin Pillar and Jose Bautista. The Blue Jays are in need of another strong performance on the mound from left hander David Price. Price is coming off of a 4-2 win versus the Yankees with a two hit shutout over seven innings.
The over is 6-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 8 Saturday games and is 8-3 in Archer’s last 11 Saturday starts while the Rays are 17-8 in Archer’s last 25 road starts. Toronto are 37-14 in their last 51 overall and are 39-17 in their last 56 home games while going 41-18 in their last 59 games on astroturf. This isn’t a slam dunk with Archer going for the Rays but Price is red hot…
