The Kansas City Royals and the visit Wrigley Field and the Chicago Cubs in Monday action.
The Kansas City Royals have wrapped up the American League Central and for the second straight year and are preparing for the postseason. Even though the Royals have wrapped up their division they aren’t going to mail in the remainder of the season which was proven in a 3-0 win versus Cleveland on Sunday. Starter Chris Young improved to 11-6 with a no hitter over five frames with four relievers finishing the job. KC logged nine hits with Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas driving in runs. The Royals turn to second year starter Yordano Ventura for Monday’s start at Wrigley Field. Ventura has been a bit up and down this season with a 12-8 record despite a high 4.40 ERA.

The Cubbies did their damage on nine hits and three bases on balls with Arrieta helping himself out with a solo homer. Starlin Castro went 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s while Dexter Fowler scored twice. Left hander Kyle Hendricks is slated to be on the hill to oppose Kansas City on Monday. Hendricks has been both good and bad with a 7-7 record with a 1.21 WHIP and 4.23 ERA in 30 starts.
