The New York Yankees fell short of the American League East title and will have to go through the Wild Card. The Yankees had dropped three in a row before getting back in the win column with a 4-1 victory against the visiting White Sox on Thursday. Veteran CC Sabathia came up big with the lone run plated on six hits and a trio of bases on balls over five frames to improve to 6-10. The Bronx Bombers rode the long ball with Robert Refsnyder, Carlos Beltran and Gregory Byrd clubbing homers. The Yankees are slated to start Adam Warren Friday for his third meeting with the Orioles. Warren is coming off of a 2-1 win versus the White Sox with a run allowed in six frames.
