The New York Yankees battle the Baltimore Orioles in game one of their series on Friday.

The New York Yankees fell short of the American League East title and will have to go through the Wild Card. The Yankees had dropped three in a row before getting back in the win column with a 4-1 victory against the visiting White Sox on Thursday. Veteran CC Sabathia came up big with the lone run plated on six hits and a trio of bases on balls over five frames to improve to 6-10. The Bronx Bombers rode the long ball with Robert Refsnyder, Carlos Beltran and Gregory Byrd clubbing homers. The Yankees are slated to start Adam Warren Friday for his third meeting with the Orioles. Warren is coming off of a 2-1 win versus the White Sox with a run allowed in six frames.

The Baltimore Orioles are playing for pride with just three games remaining in the season. The Orioles have won back to back contests after downing the Blue Jays 6-4 on Thursday afternoon. Due to poor weather the Orioles used seven pitcher with Brad Brach giving up three runs in 2/3 of an inning. The Birds logged eight hits and walked eight times with Manny Machado leading the way with pair of homers and three RBI’s and three runs while Nolan Reimold singled in a run. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen opens the series on the mound against the rival Yankees on Friday. Chen was an 8-0 loser at Boston last time out with a pair of runs scored on five hits in 5.2 innings.

The under is 6-2 in the Yankees last 8 overall and is 8-3 in their last 11 on grass while New York are 13-6 in their last 19 games. The over is 10-2 in Baltimore’s last 12 games and the under is 8-2 in Chen’s last 10 Friday starts and is 17-7-2 in Chen’s last 26 starts versus New York. Chen hasn’t been a bad option for the Orioles…
