The San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies face off on Saturday in San Francisco for game two of their MLB Series.
The San Francisco Giants continued their sad close to the season as they lost to the Rockies on Friday. Brandon Crawford had two hits and Matt Duffy and Kelby Tomlinson each had hits as the Giants scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Christopher Heston allowed eight hits and eight runs while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 12-11 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Giants start Jake Peavy who has allowed 95 hits and 43 earned runs while striking out 76 over 105.2 innings for a 7-6 record and a 3.66 ERA.

The Colorado Rockies took out some of their frustration of a disappointing season out as the beat the Giants on Friday. Nolan Arenado and Corey Dickerson each hit home runs and Jose Reyes had two hits as the Rockies scored nine runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick allowed five hits and a run while striking out six over 6.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 7-13 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Rockies start Christopher Rusin who has allowed 165 hits and 75 earned runs while striking out 82 over 125.2 innings for a 6-9 record and a 5.37 ERA.
San Francisco is 3-11 against a left-handed starter, 24-11 in their last 35 home games, and 7-0 in PEavy’s last seven starts. Colorado is 4-8 in their last 12 games, 16-35 in game two of a series, and 4-1 in Rusin’s last five starts against the NL West.
I see the Giants bouncing back here and getting the win behind Peavy.
