The Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians meet up in Cleveland on Monday as both teams play in their season openers featuring two of the games best pitchers.
The Boston Red Sox look to get back into the American League postseason after a disappointing 2015 campaign and on Tuesday we get our first look at the revamped roster that Dave Dombrowski has brought in. The Red Sox’ biggest acquisition came on the bump as they shelled out a ton of cash to former Blue Jays pitcher David Price and he will get the nod here against an Indians side who will also be looking for a rebound season after a tough stretch in the AL Central last year. The Sox have a ton of firepower with the likes of David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez, and Mookie Betts all in the lineup and while the distraction of benching Pablo Sandoval could steal some headlines the Sox will look to silence them in a hurry.

The Indians meanwhile finished last season a game above the .500 mark and in the three hole in the AL Central which is home to last year’s World Series champions from Kansas City but with their rotation being strong and a respectable lineup they have higher hopes for 2016. Corey Kluber continues to be one of the best pitchers in the MLB and with a home start to kick off the season against one of the league’s biggest draws you can bet that the team and fans alike will be geared up for this one. Kluber has ridiculous strikeout numbers but faces a really good lineup here that can hit for power and for contact and with David Price going for Boston I think the pitching matchup is a wash at best. In the end, Boston has too much depth in their lineup and with Michael Brantley on the DL to start the year I think the Indians offense will take some time adjusting and with Boston’s bullpen being so strong I think they will shut it down for a Boston victory.
