The Colorado Rockies will be at Chase Field to face the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday.

The Colorado Rockies have always been a team that has relied more on scoring then pitching and that is exactly how things played out Monday. The Rockies picked up a 10-5 victory at Arizona behind strong work out of the pen and some power hitting. Starter Jorge De La Rosa was ineffective with all five runs allowed on eight hits over 4.2 innings before four relievers shutout the Diamondbacks. The Rockies pounded out 15 hits and walked four times with Trevor Story going deep twice and driving in four with Nolan Arenado going 2-5 with a homer and three RBI’s. Carlos Gonzalez went deep and scored twice while every starter recorded a hit. Chad Bettis gets his second career start at Chase Field on Tuesday. In his lone appearance there Bettis dropped a 3-1 decision with two runs allowed (one earned) on six hits and three BB over six frames.

The Arizona Diamondbacks made a few changes in the offseason in the hopes of challenging in the National League West. Zack Greinke was one of the game’s bigger names signed to bolster the Snakes rotation but his first outing was not one for the scrapbooks. Greinke lasted just four innings with seven runs  plated on nine hits including three long balls. The bats did a decent enough job but couldn’t keep up with their five runs scored on 12 hits an three free passes. Jake Lamb smacked a two run bomb with Yasmany Tomas going 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s. David Peralta was 3-5 and scored twice but the Diamondbacks struck out 13 times. The Diamondbacks send former Atlanta Braves hurler Shelby Miller to the hill for Tuesday’s start versus Colorado. In two 2015 outings against the Rockies Miller is 0-2 with nine runs given up on 20 hits over 11.2 innings.

Colorado are 38-88 in their last 126 road games. The under is 6-2 in Arizona last 8 overall and the under is 6-2 in their last 8 on grass. Colorado are 15-38 in the last 53 meetings in Arizona and the over is 14-6-2 in the last 22 meetings in Arizona. The Rockies don’t usually win on the road but if they swing the bats well here I think Bettis is capable…
