Arch rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants battle at AT&T Park Friday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are gunning for another National League West title but blew an early lead in a 12-6 loss to the hated Giants. Alex Wood was handed a 4-0 lead before allowing five straight five runs on eight hits and three BB over five frames to take the loss. Yimi Garcia gave up a pair of runs in 2/3 of an inning before the game was put out of reach with JP Howell allowing four runs on four hits without recording an out. A 13 hit attack featured a homer and two RBI’s and two runs from Joc Pederson while Adrian Gonzalez went 3-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs. Rookie right hander Ross Stripling makes his major league debut at San Francisco Friday night. Stripling is out to make an impact in the starting rotation after missing two straight years because of Tommy John surgery.

The San Francisco Giants are out to reclaim the top spot in the NL West and that means going through the Dodgers. It made Thursday’s win doubly satisfying as the Giants looked to be in deep trouble as the Dodgers led 4-0 before the Giants offense took over. Starter Jake Peavy was hit hard with four runs plated on ten hits through five innings before the pen slowed Los Angeles down enough for the SF offense to rally. SF pounded out 17 hits and walked three times with Hunter Pence connecting on a grand slam with Joe Panik and Buster Posey driving in five combined runs while Angel Pagan knocked in two and scored twice. Matt Cain draws Friday night’s start versus Los Angeles looking to improve on his spring training struggles. Cain owned a 7.71 ERA in three spring training outings.
The over is 9-4 in the Dodgers last 13 Friday games. The over is 15-5-1 in San Francisco last 21 Friday games and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 home games while San Francisco are 25-12 in their last 37 home games. Los Angeles are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and the under is 5-2-1 in Cain’s last 8 home starts vs. Los Angeles. I have no idea what to expect from so maybe the over?
