The Cleveland Indians are one of those teams that needs to play well in all phases to be successful and that’s exactly what we saw in Friday’s 7-1 victory at the White Sox. Starter Danny Salazar was at his best with a homer allowed over 5.1 innings while three relievers put up zeros. The bats made that effort stand up with a nine hit, two walk attack with Yan Gomes driving in two with a double with Francisco Lindor and Mike Napoli scoring twice while Carlos Santana singled in a pair of runs. The Indians send Cody Anderson to the bump to face the White Sox on Saturday. Anderson faced Chicago once in 2015 and came away with a 12-1 victory where he gave up the lone run on five hits and five BB in 6.2 frames.

The Chicago White Sox are in the same boat as their counterparts in that they need to play well in all areas to be at their best. Nothing went well Friday against Cleveland and the scoreboard told that story. Starter John Danks was charged with all seven runs (five earned) on eight hits through five frames before the bullpen stopped the bleeding which by then was too late. The White Sox managed three hits and four bases on balls with Todd Frazier being the lone bright spot with a 2-3 effort with a long ball and walk.Ace left hander Chris Sale makes his second start of the season with Cleveland in town. Sale threw the ball well in a 4-3 win at Oakland with all three runs allowed on seven hits while whiffing eight in seven frames.
The under is 12-5 in Cleveland last 17 road games. The over is 8-2-3 in the White Sox last 13 Saturday games and Chicago are 2-6 in Sales last 8 starts while going 2-6 in Sales last 8 starts on grass. The under is 14-3 in the last 17 meetings in Chicago and is 24-8-1 in the last 33 meetings. It’s always tough going against Sale and I likely wouldn’t do it to be honest…
