The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants meet Saturday night for game three.
The Los Angeles Dodgers look for a feel good victory after losing their last two games. In Friday’s game, the Dodgers didn’t allow a hit until the eighth inning and still managed to lose the game in extra innings. The good news for the Los Angeles Dodgers is that if you take away Thursday’s blowout, they’ve allowed just three runs in four games. Offensively, Yasiel Puig leads Los Angeles with nine hits, Adrian Gonzalez has four RBI and Joc Pederson has one home run. Clayton Kershaw gets the ball, and he’s 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and nine strikeouts this season. Kershaw is 16-7 with a 1.54 ERA and 243 strikeouts in his career against the Giants.

The San Francisco Giants look to build on their impressive 4-1 start to the season. The Giants pitching rotation has been solid out of the gate, allowing four or less runs in four of their five games. In Friday’s win, the San Francisco Giants allowed nine hits in 38 at bats and held the Dodgers scoreless in the last five innings. Offensively, Joe Panik leads San Francisco with six hits, Matt Duffy has six RBI and Brandon Crawford has two homers. Madison Bumgarner takes the hill, and he’s 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA and six strikeouts this season. Bumgarner is 13-7 with a 2.45 ERA and 136 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are 24-11 in their last 35 during game 3 of a series and 42-17 in Kershaws last 59 starts. The Giants are 4-1 in their last 5 Saturday games and 11-5 in Bumgarners last 16 starts. The Giants are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings when Bumgarner faces Kershaw.
This should be a terrific game between two of the top pitchers in the sport. However, I find it hard to beleive the Dodgers are going to lose three straight against their hated rival. This is also one of the cheaper prices you're going to see with Kershaw all season. I'm backing the Dodgers here.
