The Atlanta Braves travel to Washington to take on the Nationasl at Nationals Park, the Braves are off to a slow start as expected and are 0-5 going into the first game of this four game series.
Bud Norris will get the ball for the Braves and he was impressive on opening day when keeping the Nationals bats relatively quiet and scoreless through six innings on Opening day. The Braves will look for a repeat performance by Norris as he looks to have recovered from a disappointing season with Baltimore in 2015 where he went 3-11 with a ERA of 6.72. Losing the opening two games to the Nationals 4-3 and 2-1 the Braves showed some promise regarding pitching but their three game series with the Cardinals was a step backward as the Braves gave up 31 runs in that three game stretch. Not only is that worrying but the offence has been pretty terrible. Freddie Freeman the corner stone of the franchise at the moment has started the season going 2-16 and has just one run and two rbi's in five games. Nick Markakis is the club leader in both batting average .300 and rbi with just 4. This is a team that needs some inspiration from somewhere and it could come in the form of rookie Mallex Smith who will join the club on Monday after Ender Incartie went on the DL. Smith is one of the top prospects in the club and the center fielder could provide a spark for a team in need of one.

The Nationals are off to a strong start and have their ace Max Sherzer on the mound on Monday. Sherzer gave up two home runs on opening day but also struck out seven and will fancy his chances of picking up his first win of the season at home to a terrible Braves offence. Sherzer has the stuff to hold any team and he will be backed up by one of the best offences in the game. Bryce Harper has continued where he left off last year, good plate discipline and hard hits. Harper is building on his reputation again and looks set to be in contention for another MVP, he also looks set to lead this Nationals team into a year where they could go all the way. Daniel Murphy , Danny Espinosa, Wilson Ramos, Anthony Rendon are all off to hot starts and if Jayson Werth can get his bat going this is going to be a very tough team to beat.
Nationals are 4-0 in Sherzers last 4 starts against NL East, Nationasl are 5-1 in Sherzers last 6 starts, Under is 3-0-1 in Sherzers last 4 starts after allowing 2 or less in their previous game.
Braves are 2-14 in the last 16 meetings in Washington, Under is 7-0 in Braves last 7 against a team with a winning record, Under is 4-0-1 in Braves last 5 against NL East.
I like the unders here. Norris was impressive in the opening day match up and I think he caues some problems for the Nationals here. The Nationals with Sherzer on the mound shouldnt give up too much and with the line set at 7 I think we have some wiggle room.
