The Seattle Mariners look to get a win here against the Texas Rangers in Safeco Field.
The Rangers are off to a decent start 4-4 and are 3-2 away from home. The Rangers are winning behind some strong starting pitching and some opportune hitting. Prince Fielder is hitting just .214 but has 9 RBI's , Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus are both hitting above .290 and the team as a whole has had a knack for getting important hits with runners on base. The Rangers turn to Derek Holland on Tuesday who gave up 4 hits, 3 runs and 1 HR in his opener but ended with a no decision. Holland will look to take advantage of Safeco Park's pitcher friendly confines on Tuesday a place that Holland has dominated going 3-1 with a 2.29 ERA in seven career starts.

It's been tough going for the Seattle Mariners who have now lost 5 of seven and are struggling to hit the ball. There have been some bright sparks in the offence as Robinson Cano has hit 4 home runs, Nelson Cruz is batting almost .300 and Leony's Martin (aquired from the Rangers in the off season) is leading the team with a batting average of .364. The Seattle Mariners pitching staff have a combined ERA of 3.64 which should be good for more than 2 wins in seven but unfortunately the Mariners bats just cant give enough run support. A prime example of the Seattle problem is Felix Hernandez who has had 2 quality starts given up just 4 hits and 1 run but has a 0-1 record, Hernandez ERA is 0.69. On Tuesday the Mariners will go to Wade Miley who has never pitched in Safeco Park before but should be happy to play in such a pitcher friendly arena. Miley gave up seven hit and five runs in his Seattle debut but got the no decisionas the Seattle bats woke up late to win that game against the Rangers 9-5.
