Minnesota Twins vs. Chicago White Sox - 4/14/16 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction
The Chicago White Sox conclude their series at Target Field versus the Minnesota Twins.
The Chicago White Sox have been scorching hot to begin the season and remained that way with a 3-0 victory at Target Field on Wednesday night. Starter Carlos Rodon was at his very best with three hits and five bases on balls allowed over six scoreless innings with four relievers putting up zeros. The White Sox mustered nine hits with Jerry Sands leading the attack with a two run jack in the 7th while Jimmy Rollins, Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie recorded two hits apiece. Mats Latos shoots for his second win when he faces Minnesota for the first time in his career. Latos is coming off of a dominant one hit shutout over six frames of a 6-1 win at Oakland.
The Minnesota Twins remained winless and even though it’s early they can not afford to fall to far behind the likes of Kansas City in the American League Central. The offense failed the Twins and a great performance on the mound went for naught. Starter Phil Hughes was a tough luck loser with all three runs given up on seven hits while striking out seven through 6.1 innings of work. The offense totaled four hits and five free passes with Joe Mauer going 2-4 with Miguel Sano walking twice while Eduardo Escobar singling and walking. Ervin Santana looks to continue his hot start to the season against the rival White Sox Thursday. Santana has not received a decision in two outings despite a 2.25 ERA.
The under is 7-1-1 in in the White Sox last 9 road games. Minnesota are 1-11 in their last 12 overall and are 1-11 in their last 12 games on grass while the over is 8-2 in their last 10 Thursday games. Chicago are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in Minnesota and are 5-12 in the last 17 meetings. Chicago looks like the real deal and Minnesota looks atrocious but I’m just going against Latos even though I can’t tell anyone to bet the Twins with real money…
