The New York Mets finally won a game on Thursday after losing four in a row, they now start a three game series at Progressive Field against the Cleveland Indians.
With Bartolo Colon on the mound the Mets will always have a chance, the wily veteran Colon is well capable of keeping the Mets in games and was a very unlucky loser in his opening game giving up only 6 hits and 1 earned run. The problem for the Mets though is not their pitching as a whole the pitching roster is only giving up a 2.92 ERA. The problem for the Mets is the offence where the Mets are batting less than .200 to be exact .194. Curtis Granderson is having a nightmare start to the season batting .097 with just three hits on the season. David Wright , Yoenis Cespedes and Lucas Duda are also not where they need to be. While the Mets are struggling to make contact with the ball this team needs to start finding space to put the ball into. With a pitching staff that is stocked with quality the only way this Mets team dont win enough games to make the playoffs this year is if they continue to fail to put the ball in play.

After splitting shortened series with Boston and the Chicago White Sox, the Cleveland Indians finally won a series against Tampa Bay Rays. The Indians will turn to Cody Anderson on the mound on Friday. Anderson went 7-3 in 15 starts last season with an ERA of 3.05. Anderson has started this season in a similar fashion with an ERA of 3.05 in a no decision in his only start of the season. The Indians have some quality bats and are coming into this game off the back of consequtive wins, Tyler Naquin, Francisco Lindor and Rajai Davis all had multiple hits in their last two games and the Indians will be looking to ride the momentum into this weekend. For the Indians in this series every hit will be vital as this Mets pitching staff just dont give up alot, Marlon Byrd the former Met has good numbers against Bartolo Colon, he could be the key to this one.
Mets are 8-2 in their last 10 following a day off, 0-4 in Colon's last 4 starts, and the Under is 4-1 in Colon's last 5 following a quality start.
Indians are 8-0 in last 8 Friday games, 5-1 in Andersons last 6 starts, 4-1 in last five home games.
Tough one to call here but I am going to take the Indians, I think this one could be a very low scoring encounter but I expect the Indians bats to get a little more of Bartolo than the Mets will get of Anderson.
