The Chicago White Sox look to leave Tropicana Field and the Tampa Bay Rays with a win in the final game of the series Sunday.
The general rule of thumb for the Chicago White Sox is to control the scoreboard with their pitching and give the offense as much help as possible. That didn’t happen Saturday with the White Sox falling at Tropicana Field by a 7-2 count. Lefty John Danks struggled with five runs plated on seven hits and three walks including a pair of homers over 6.1 frames. The Chicago attack fell short on six hits and didn’t walk with Brett Lawrie supplying the offense with a two run jack in the 7th that scored Melky Cabrera. Jose Quintana gets the call to the mound for his third start in 2016 for the Chicago White Sox. In two previous outings Quintana has allowed three runs on eleven hits and three BB over 11.2 frames.

The normally complacent Tampa Bay Rays offense came to life Saturday and when this team scores they have to take advantage and win. The Rays did just that Saturday and the pitching took full advantage. Starter Erasmo Ramirez was at the top of his game with a three hit shutout through 5.2 frames with a trio of relievers putting up zeros. Tampa Bay managed ten hits and coaxed five walks with Brad Miller going 2-4 with a homer and three RBI’s while Brandon Guyer and Desmond Jennings smacked solo homeruns. Tampa Bay goes with Matt Moore on the hill to face the Chicago White Sox for the first time since 2013. Moore was outstanding in a 5-1 win versus the Cleveland Indians with a solo homer accounting for the lone run over seven innings.
The under is 13-2-1 in the White Sox last 16 road games and is 16-6-4 in their last 26 overall while going 57-25-1 in their last 83 on astroturf. The under is 7-0-2 in Tampa Bay last 9 overall. The over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and the White Sox are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Tampa Bay. Both hurlers have been stingy so I am leaning to the under…
