The Line: San Francisco Giants / Arizona Diamondbacks --- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The San Francisco Giants return home after losing two of three against the Los Angeles Dodgers and will look to get back in the win column against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.
The Arizona Diamondbacks take to the road looking to improve on their sluggish start to the year as they will send Rubby De La Rosa to the bump who is out for his first win of the year after stumbling to a 0-3 mark and a whopping 9.31 ERA. The D-Backs suffered a blow after losing AJ Pollock for the season but they still have a pretty solid roster and should be competitive in the NL West but their rotation is a cause for concern as Zach Greinke and Shelby Miller haven’t looked themselves yet and De La Rosa has been dreadful in his three starts and hasn’t come close to throwing a decent game. Arizona is an impressive 18-8 in their last 26 contests to begin a series but are a paltry 19-47 in their last 66 road games against a team with a winning record so they will have their work cut out for them against the San Francisco Giants.
USA TODAY Sports
The Giants head back home after dropping two of three against their bitter rivals from Los Angeles including a 3-1 decision yesterday in which rookie sensation Kenta Maeda was exceptional once again. The Giants are 7-6 to start the season and will turn to Jake Peavy at the bottom of their rotation as they look for a boost after losing their latest starts from Madison Bumgarner and Jeff Samardzija with a Johnny Cueto gem thrown into the mix but with the D-Backs on tap they should feel pretty confident in their chances of getting a win here. The Giants are 6-2 in Jake Peavy’s last eight starts and 22-9 in their last 31 home games against a team with a losing road record and with all trends considered and the edge on the bump I have to think the Giants get it done against De La Rosa.
