The Chicago White Sox look to rebound after an ugly outing yesterday against the Los Angeles Angels as the teams meet up on the South Side again on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Angels look for an encore performance at The Cell on Tuesday night as they waxed the home town Sox to the tune of a 7-0 final on Monday behind a great outing from CJ Cron at the dish and a two-hit, 10-strikeout gem from Hector Santiago. The Angels’ win moved them to 6-7 on the season and while they have underachieved a bit to start they have the roster to go on a nice run and compete in the AL West with the Astros and Rangers who have been designated by many as the top two contenders. The Halos will send Matt Shoemaker to the bump in this one as he will face off against Mat Latos who looked strong in his first couple of starts and will be out for his third victory of the season and will look to maintain his dazzling 0.75 ERA.

The White Sox meanwhile dropped to 8-5 on the year after the loss but have still played pretty well this season and look like a dark horse team that is capable of going on a run in the AL Central as they have a nice balance of power, speed, and pitching. Chicago made a splash in the offseason by bringing in Todd Frazier and Brett Lawrie and already have a nice core of power in the lineup and if they can continue to get production out of Latos and their middle rotation they will be a tough team to beat across a seven game series as Chris Sale is an absolute horse as the ace of the staff. While Latos’ ridiculous numbers won’t be sustained he has find new life in his short time with the White Sox and while Shoemaker is capable of shutting a team down as well I like Chicago to bounce back here as they get the sticks booming.
