The Los Angeles Dodgers pay a visit to Coors Field to face the rival Colorado Rockies.
The Los Angeles Dodgers might be a favorite in the National League West but the Atlanta Braves made them work in a series clinching 2-1 decision in ten innings. Ace Clayton Kershaw was hit hard with ten hits and a walk turning in to a lone run over eight innings with ten strikeouts helping him out. The Dodgers offense had opportunities on nine hits and five bases on balls with Joc Pederson and Yasmani Grandal recording RBI’s with Kyle Seager and Enrique Hernandez scoring. Scott Kazmir gets the ball for the Dodgers following back to back losses to the San Francisco Giants. In those defeats Kazmir was charged with ten runs on 14 hits and five walks in a pair of four inning stints.

Even though the season is young it still seems strange to see the 8-7 Colorado Rockies sitting in second in the National League West. The Rockies are in desperate need of a win following consecutive losses after a 6-5 defeat at Cincinnati. This one was on the shoulders of the bullpen after starter Chad Bettis gave up three runs on three hits through six frames with Justin Miller allowing two runs and Christian Bergman the game winner for the Reds in the 9th. The Rockies logged eight hits and four walks with Gerardo Parra and Ben Paulsen driving in two runs apiece while DJ LeMathieu scored twice. The Colorado Rockies send Jonathan Gray to the bump for the first start of the season and his 10th of his career. In nine career starts Gray has gone 0-2 with a 5.63 ERA.
The under is 5-2-1 in the Dodgers last 8 overall and is 5-2-1 in their last 8 on grass. The over is 6-2 in Colorado’s last 8 home games and Colorado are 1-8 in Grays last 9 starts while going 1-8 in Grays last 9 starts on grass. The over is 18-7 in the last 25 meetings. I’m not in love with the pitching here and I’d rather pass but…
