The Texas Rangers look to shake off an ugly loss at The Cell last night as they continue their series with the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.
The Rangers fell victim to a heavy hitting White Sox group and a wild triple play in a losing effort in Chicago last night and will look for a rebound effort on Saturday as they slipped to 10-7 on the year and 4-4 outside of Arlington. The Rangers are hoping that Colby Lewis can get them back in the win column as he is slated to face off against Carlos Rodon who was absolutely shelled in his last outing and will be out for a better effort. Texas is 4-0 in their last four contests following a loss and are 14-5 in Lewis’ last 19 starts against a team with a winning record which bodes well for them here against Rodon and the Sox who is a flamethrower but hasn’t had a great start to the year.
USA TODAY Sports
The White Sox on the whole have been very strong to start the season and netted their 11th win in 17 tries last night and will be out for their fifth home field win on Saturday. The Sox have a pretty solid roster and can swing the bat with the best of them and with Crhsi Sale and Mat Latos pithcing very well to start the year they are certainly a dark horse in the AL Central. The White Sox are 8-2 in Rodon’s last 10 games in which he had five days rest and are 7-2 in their last nine against a right handed pitcher but Colby Lewis has pitched well to start the year and has an edge in terms of command on Rodon. In the end, I expect the Chicago youngster to recover from his last effort and Lewis is due for a shell shock and I anticipate both to happen in this one as the Sox get another win.
