The Boston Red Sox continue their interleague series with the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on Tuesday.
The Boston Red Sox haven’t met expectations the last several years so a winning streak in the early going would be a huge confidence builder. The Red Sox have won a few now and might be on the verge of something after a 1-0 win at Atlanta on Monday. The Red Sox pitching saved the day with starter Rick Porcello tossed a four hit shutout over 6.1 frames with three relievers finishing the job. The Boston offense didn’t do much on six hits and a trio of walks with Jackie Bradley Jr. cracking his first homer for the lone run. The Boston Red Sox turn to left hander David Price to open the series at Atlanta. Price suffered one od his worse starts last time out with eight runs scored on eight hits including two long balls in just 3.2 innings of work of a 12-8 loss to Tampa Bay.

The Atlanta Braves are obviously having a difficult time winning games but losing a 1-0 contest is simply a tough way to lose especially for the pitching. Braves starter Julio Teheran was brilliant with six hits and three walks allowed through seven innings with a homer served up in the 7th saddling him with the loss. The Bravos logged four hits and bases on balls with Freddie Freeman going 2-2 with a walk while Nick Markakis walked two times. Matt Wisler toes the rubber for the Atlanta Braves for the first time against the Red Sox. Wisler did not receive a decision in a 2-1 loss to the Dodgers where he gave up an unearned run on four hits and two BB in 6.2 frames.
Boston are 3-11 in their last 14 Tuesday games and the over is 6-2-1 in their last 9 interleague games while going 6-2 in their last 8 road games. Atlanta are 1-11 in their last 12 interleague games and the over is 7-2-1 in their last 10 overall while going 7-2-1 in the Braves last 10 on grass. Boston are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings in Atlanta and are 20-7 in the last 27 meetings. If Boston is to stay hot their ace has to earn that label…
