The Los Angeles Angels look to carry over momentum from their effort yesterday as they host the Kansas City Royals against on Tuesday night.
The Royals look to get back in the win column on Tuesday night as they continue their series on the road against the Angels and after a lackluster effort offensively yesterday they need a boost in the batter’s box as they face off against Jered Weaver who has been decent so far. Kansas City is once again considered a threat to win the World Series as they have retained much of their team from a season ago and still have a very scary bullpen that ranks among the best in the MLB so if they can get an early lead on Weaver and the Angels they should be in good shape. KC will counter with Edinson Volquez who is 3-0 with a 1.46 ERA through his first three starts and is emerging as the team’s go to on the bump.

The Angels meanwhile have stumbled out of the gates and while many didn’t expect them to compete in the American League West they have an opening right now as the Astros have struggled and no other team really has the inside track. Los Angeles has the bets player in the game in Mike Trout and while baseball can sometimes be the ultimate team we have seen players like Trout single handily take over a series and he has the capability to do so here against Volquez and the Royals.
Kansas City is 4-0 in Volquez’ last four starts following a quality start in his previous appearance, 7-3 in their last 10 against a team with a losing record and 27-10 in Volquez’ last 37 starts overall and after a sluggish outing yesterday you can bet the Royals’ bats will be ready to produce tonight. The Angels meanwhile are 13-3 in Weaver’s last 16 Tuesday starts, 43-18 in Weaver’s last 61 home starts against a team with a winning record but a modest 1-5 in his last six starts during game two of a series. In the end, I think Kansas City battles back after a tough one yesterday and they get the victory on the road against Weaver and the Halos.
