The San Diego Padres continue their road series in San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon as they take on the Giants at AT&T Park.

The Padres continue their trek against their California neighbours in a matinee affair on Wednesday as they will throw Andrew Cashner up against Jeff Samardzija in what could very well be a breakout game for the offenses. San Diego isn’t expected to do a whole lot this season but we have seen some surprising outings from them already this season so we know they are capable of putting up runs in bunches and they may have to harness some of them as they send Cashner to the mound who has been known to get hit hard. San Diego was 7-13 heading into last night’s contest and they will look to get another in the win column on Wednesday but things won’t be easy as it looks like the Giants have found the rejuvenated Jeff Samardzija.

The Giants meanwhile have been a little underwhelming to start the season and need to get refocused before they fall out of reach and with the roster they have and a revamped rotation it shouldn’t take long before we seem them back atop the NL West. San Fran was 10-11 heading into last night’s game and will look to send the Padres to defeat and with the power they have in their lineup and Cashner on the mound it is no surprise to see how many are betting in favour of the Giants in this one.

San Diego is 1-4 in their last five against the NL West, 1-7 in their last eight against a team with a losing record, but are 5-2 in Cashner’s last seven starts while the Giants are 24-10 in their last 34 starts against a right hander at home but 0-7 in their last seven game three’s of a series. All signs point to the Giants here and with Samardzija seemingly finding his game I think we see them get another win.
