The Texas Rangers and New York Yankees take the field at Globe Life Park in the series finale’.
The New York Yankees have offensive issues this season and those issues combined with some pitching woes leading to a 10-1 defeat at Texas Tuesday. Yankees starter Luis Severino fell to 0-3 with six runs plated on seven hits and a pair of BB over three innings with Ivan Nova giving up three runs on five hits in four frames. The Yanks offense simply could not keep up on six hits and a base on balls with Mark Texiera doubling in Brett Gardner with the only run. The New York Yankees hand the ball to veteran left hander CC Sabathia for the last game of the series at Texas. Sabathia is coming off of consecutive defeats where he has allowed six runs on 16 hits and four BB in 9.1 innings.

Everything clicked for the Texas Rangers who scored early and often to take the pressure off their pitching. Rangers starter AJ Griffin didn’t need much help with the lone run allowed on four hits and a walk through eight innings to improve to 3-0. The Rangers bats took care of business with 13 hits and a pair of free passes that featured a solo homer from Rougned Odor with Ian Desmond going 2-3 with a homer, two RBI’s and three runs. Mitch Moreland went 2-4 and drove in two with a run while Nomar Mazara scored twice. Martin Perez toes the rubber for the Texas Rangers against the Yankees on Wednesday. Perez dropped a 5-0 decision at the White Sox in his last outing with all five runs plated on five hits and two BB over 5.2 frames.
The under is 7-2-2 in the Yankees last 11 overall and is 6-2-2 in their last 10 on grass while New York are 3-7 in their last 10 road games. The over is 7-2 in the Rangers last 9 home games and the under is 10-4 in Perez’s last 14 on grass while going 10-4 in Perez’s last 14 starts overall. The over is 8-0 in Sabathia’s last 8 starts versus Texas and the Yankees are 7-2 in Sabathia’s last 9 starts versus Texas. I think the Rangers score enough to get over the team total here but I’m not sure what Perez does…
