The Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox collide once again in a battle of first place teams.
The Chicago White Sox were one of the hottest teams in the game and I say were because they have now dropped back to back contests to the Orioles after a 6-3defeat Saturday. Nothing went as planned as White Sox starter Carlos Rodon charged with all six runs (four earned) on eight hits over seven frames to get the loss. The Chicago offense logged six hits and walked twice led by Brett Lawrie and his second homer of the year while Avisail Garcia and Jose Abreu drove in runs. The Chicago White Sox send a resurgent Mat Latos to the hill looking for his 5th consecutive victory to open the season. Latos has allowed just two runs thus far in 24.1 innings of work.

The Baltimore Orioles are proving that they deserve to be first in the American League East with their second straight win against the team with the best record in the American League. The Orioles fell behind early but the pitching held firm and the offense eventually came through. O’s starter Mike Wright tossed his best game in 2016 with a pair of runs allowed on six hits and two BB over six frames. The Birds totaled eight hits and walked three times with Nolan Reimhold leading the way with two hits including a homer with three RBI’s and two runs while Jonathan Schoop driving in a pair. Matt Wieters and JJ Hardy each scored twice and all but one starter reached base. Kevin Gausman toes the rubber for just the second time on the year with his first career meeting versus the White Sox. Gausman opened his season with a 2-0 loss to Tampa Bay with a run allowed on three hits over five innings.
The under is 19-5-3 in the White Sox last 27 on grass and the over is 10-3-3 in their last 16 Saturday games while Chicago are 9-3 in their last 12 games on grass. The under is 7-1-1 in Baltimore’s last 9 home games and is 8-2 in their last 10 overall while the Orioles are 18-5 in their last 23 home games. Chicago are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings and the under is 14-6-1 in the last 21 meetings. I am not entirely confident with either hurler but the Orioles seem to be in a groove…
