NL West rivals the San Francisco Giants end their series with the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

A 2-1. 13 inning defeat at San Francisco was one that got away with Rockies starter Jonathan Gray tossing a one hit shutout over seven frames before Jake McGee blew the save with a run scored in the 10th before Justin Miller absorbed the loss in the 13th. Colorado totaled 12 hits and three walks with Try Wolters driving in DL LeMathieu with the lone run.The Colorado Rockies send Eddie Butler to the mound for his second start of the season. Butler lost a 6-3 decision at San Diego the first time out with five runs plated on four hits over 5.2 frames.

The San Francisco Giants offense stalled Saturday but the work on the mound was outstanding and the sometimes offensive minded squad turned back time and looked like the Giants of old. SF Starter Johnny Cueto allowed eight hit through 8.1 scoreless innings for a no decision. Cory Gearrin gave up a 10th inning run but five relievers held the Rockies off the scoreboard. San Francisco logged seven hits and five walks with Matt Duffy and Brandon Crawford driving in runs while Brandon Belt and Conor Gillaspie scored. Sunday’s start versus visiting Colorado belongs to Jeff Samardzija who sees the Rockies for the second time. Samardzija defeated Cincinnati last time out with a home accounting for the lone run in eight innings while whiffing nine.
