The Los Angeles Dodgers end their visit with the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon.
When the Los Angeles Dodgers need a win they can usually depend on ace Clayton Kershaw and the lefty did not let them down in Saturday’s 6-2 victory at the Rogers Centre. The offense also had a big effort but Kershaw tossed another gem with both runs plated on eight hits while striking out ten over seven frames to up his record to 4-1. The LAD bats totaled seven hits and two walks with Joc Peterson and Justin Turner smacking solo bombs while Adrian Gonzalez went 2-4 and knocked in two. The Los Angeles Dodgers close out their trip to Toronto with Ross Stripling on the hill. Stripling hopes to bounce back from a 5-2 loss to San Diego where he gave up all five runs on seven hits and two BB in 4.2 frames.

The Toronto Blue Jays have yet to distinguish themselves in the American League East and need to try again on Sunday following Sunday’s loss. The defense cost the Blue Jays a few runs with starter RA Dickey allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk through seven innings to fall to 1-4. The Jays logged nine hits with Kevin Pillar and Darwin Barney driving in runs while Barney and Justin Smoak scored. Marco Estrada will be on the mound Sunday against the Dodgers who he last saw in 2011. Estrada defeated the Rangers 3-1 last time out with a homer accounting for the lone run allowed in six innings.
The Dodgers are 2-8 in their last 10 overall and are 3-8 in their last 11 interleague games. The under is 8-1 in Toronto’s last 9 on astroturf and the Blue Jays are 19-7 in their last 26 Sunday games while the under is 18-7-1 in their last 26 overall. The over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings. The Blue Jays don’t scare anybody but I think an edge on the bump belongs to them…
