The Houston Astros will be at Fenway Park to kick off a series with the Boston Red Sox.
The Houston Astros are trying to put their slow start behind them and we shall see if that comes about after an exhausting 5-3 win versus visiting Cleveland Wednesday in a 13 inning marathon. Astros starter Doug Fister allowed a pair of runs over seven frames with Luke Gregorson serving up a solo homer in the 9th to squander a 3-2 lead. The Stros logged ten hits and walked a staggering 12 times with George Springer smacking a solo bomb while Marwin Gonzalez connected on a two run walk off bomb that scored Carlos Correa who also drove in a run. The Houston Astros will begin the series at Fenway Park with Dallas Keuchel on the mound. Keuchel is coming off of 3-2 defeat (ND) where he gave up two runs on solo homers over seven frames.

I’m certain Oakland is glad to leave Fenway and the Boston Red Sox after Wednesday’s 13-3 defeat as Boston is just scoring at will right now. On the series finale’ the Red Sox also received plenty of pitching with starter Rick Porcello allowing three runs on six hits and two BB through 6.2 innings to pick up the victory. Boston hammered out 17 hits and walked four times with Jackie Bradley Jr. clubbing a pair of homers and driving in six with Dustin Bedroia going deep and knocking in two while scoring three times. Mookie Betts and Hanley Ramirez also drove in a pair each while Travis Shaw and Christian Vasquez combined for five runs. Left hander David Price looks to keep the ship a float when he toes the rubber versus the Astros. The former ace is 4-1 with a 1.38 WHIP but his ERA is unsightly at 6.75.
The over is 12-5 in Houston’s last 17 road games and the Astros are 18-41 in their last 59 road games. Boston are 12-4 in their last 16 overall and 12-4 in their last 16 games on grass. Houston are 3-11 in the last 14 meetings in Boston and the over is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. Boston and their hot bats hopefully overcome whatever Price does…
