The San Francisco Giants look for another road at Chase Field on Friday night as they continue their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Giants look for a follow up effort on Friday night after scoring a 4-2 against the D-Backs on Thursday night as they send Jeff Samardzija to the mound to take on Shelby Miller in what should be an exciting pitching matchup if nothing else. San Francisco continue to be one of the teams to watch out for in the National League and while they may not be the faovurites to emerge out of their division with the D-Backs and Dodgers stealing some of their thunder they are certainly in the mix as they have a solid roster and a great front end of the rotation that can include Samardzija when he is at his best.

The Diamondbacks meanwhile made a splash in the offseason by acquiring some big pieces in the form of Miller and Zack Greinke but an early season injury to AJ Pollock derailed some of the momentum they had built up as they now have to find a way to fill his void at the plate. Arizona though still has a very solid lineup and if they can get their prized pitching options to turn it around they will be a tough group to beat and could very well end up challenging the Dodgers and Giants like many expected in the preseason.
San Francisco is 5-2 in their last seven against the NL West, 39-19 in their last 58 during game two of a series, and 1-4 in their last five against a team with a losing record, while Arizona is 5-1 in their last six overall, 4-1 in their last five against a right handed starter, and 1-5 in their last six home games. The Giants got the best of the Diamondbacks on Thursday and with Samardzija on the bump tonight I think they get the best of them again as Miller has had a tough start to the year and I expect his early season struggles to continue.
