The Line: Baltimore Orioles -121 / Detroit Tigers +111 --- Over/Under: 9 See the Latest Odds
The Baltimore Orioles look to continue their torrid pace at home as they welcome the Detroit Tigers to town once again on Saturday.
The Tigers look to chalk up another in the win column on Saturday as they send Anibal Sanchez to the mound to face off against Mike Wright who looks to snap out of his 1-3 funk that is accompanied by a 5.83 ERA. Detroit has struggled to start the season as they are just 15-20 through their first 35 games and while they are still very much alive in the AL Central they know they need to start playing better as the like of Chicago, Kansas City, and Cleveland all have solid rosters and are capable of making a playoff push. Sanchez is 3-3 with a 5.89 ERA this season and he will look to improve on those stats today against a heavy hitting Orioles team that is 15-5 at home this season.
USA TODAY Sports
The Orioles remain one of the league’s biggest surprises this season and while they have cooled off a bit after their red hot start they are still among the league’s best right now and will be in the race for the AL East all season long. Baltimore added some extra power to their lineup by bringing in Mark Trumbo who is having a career year to date and with Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Adam Jones still on the roster they are more than capable of putting up double digits on any given night.
The Tigers are 1-8 in their last nine games following a loss, 1-10 in their last 11 overall, and are 18-4 in their last 22 starts when their opponent scores two runs or less in their last outing while the O’s are 4-0 in their last four against the AL Central, 20-6 in their last 26 home games, and 19-7 in their last 26 following a win. Detroit is struggling mightily right now and the O’s are not the team they need to see right now and in the end I like Baltimore to get it done once again.
