The New York Mets look to chalk up another victory in Colorado on Sunday as they send Jacob deGrom to the mound as they face off against the Rockies.
The Mets will look for their 22nd victory of the season on Sunday at Coors Field after conceding a loss yesterday to the Rockies by a 7-4 final but they will send deGrom to the bump who is among the league’s bets young pitchers and will be out for revenge after a team loss in his last outing. New York will have to contend with Tyler Chatwood who has looked decent so far this season with a 4-3 record and a 3.09 ERA but at Coors Field and a pretty solid lineup for the blue and orange it could spell the end of that respectable ERA, especially after a loss from the Mets yesterday.

The Rockies meanwhile got back in the win column with one of their better outings of the season and now sit just a single game back of the .500 mark and with the power they possess at the dish they are capable of blasting even the league’s best pitchers and could very well do it again here against deGrom. Colorado is led of course by Carlos Gonzalez, Nolan Arenado, and youngster Trevor Story and they so send their best pitching options in Chatwood to the mound in this one which could set up their second win in as many days against one of the league’s World Series contenders.
The Mets are 15-5 in their last 20 against a righty, 1-4 in their last five overall, and 5-0 in deGrom’s last five during game three of a series, while the Rockies are 4-0 in their last four against the NL East, 6-1 in their last seven Sundays games, but 0-4 in Chatwood’s last four home starts. This has been an exciting series thus far but I expect this one to a be a little more lopsided as New York has a huge edge on the mound and they get it done by multiple runs.
