In his last three outings Hughes has allowed a combined 15 runs on 19 hits including five homers over eleven innings.

The Tigers amassed 14 hits and walked four times with Ian Kinsler, Nick Castellanos and JD Martinez each cracking homers and driving in two runs and scoring two times apiece. The Detroit Tigers are scheduled to start Mike Pelfrey against Minnesota for the second time this season. On the year Pelfrey has gone 0-4 with a 1.85 WHIP and 5.80 ERA over seven starts.
