The Toronto Blue Jays pay a visit to Target Field Thursday to open a series with the Minnesota Twins.
The Toronto Blue Jays had high hopes of making another run at the postseason but have been stumbling with five consecutive defeats following a 6-3 loss to visiting Tampa Bay Wednesday. Neither the arms or bats were strong enough with Blue Jays starter RA Dickey charged with five runs (four earned) on eight hits including three homers over six frames to get the loss. The Jays attack consisted of four hits and four walks with Michael Saunders, Jimmy Paredes and Edwin Encarnacion smacking solo jacks. The Blue Jays are slated to send Marco Estrada to the hill Thursday for the series opener at Target Field. Estrada comes off of a 6-5 loss at Texas with five runs plated (four earned) on five hits and four BB over six innings.

The Minnesota Twins send Ervin Santana to the hill in the series opener versus visiting Toronto. Santana comes off his first win in a 6-3 decision at Cleveland with a lone run allowed on five hits in six frames.
