Two of the league’s hottest teams meet up at Fenway on Friday night as the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox kick off a series in Beantown.
The Indians head into Boston coming off a cake walk evening against the Cincinnati Reds in which Carlos Santana lit up the Reds pitching, and he and the Tribe will look to keep it going on Friday against Clay Buchholz and the Red Sox. Cleveland is hitting the cover off the ball right now and this is without Michael Brantley who is usually the main source of the team’s offense and if they can keep it going until he gets back they are certainly a team to watch out for the in AL Central as they could very well unseat the Royals and Tigers. Cleveland shifted their rotation around to get Corey Kluber on the docket tonight as he faces off against a tough Red Sox roster at Fenway where they have been lethal this season.

The Red Sox had the day off yesterday and will be well rested against Kluber and the Indians tonight but they know they will have to get to him early as they have Buchholz going who hasn’t had his best stuff over the last couple of seasons. Boston has been ridiculous at the plate this season as David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Xander Bogaerts and the like have been excellent and are certainly the favourites in the AL East at the moment, especially if they can get the middle and back end of their rotation going.
The Indians are 4-0 in their last four overall, 11-2 in their 13 Friday games, and 5-0 in their last five against a team with a winning record, while the BoSox are are 9-1 in their last 10 at home, 4-1 in their last five against a team with a winning record, and 8-3 in their last 11 overall. Cleveland is tearing it up right now but they run into a Red Sox team that is on fire and this one should come down to the bullpens and you have to give it to Boston with Kimbrel shutting it down.
