The Arizona Diamondbacks are in a free for all in the National League West which means it’s San Francisco and everybody else. The Diamondbacks took one on the chin Tuesday in a 12-1 defeat at PNC Park where nothing went right. D-Backs starter Shelby Miller was charged with six runs on eight hits and four BB over five frames to fall to 1-6 while Andrew Chafin and Evan Marshall followed with three runs given up apiece. Zona logged six hits and walked six times with Yasmany Tomas driving in Phillip Gosselin with the only run. Pitt amassed 17 hits and walked five times with Gregory Polanco going 3-5 with a homer, three RBI’s and two runs while Jordy Mercer knocked in two and scored twice. The Pirates hand the ball to Jeff Locke on Wednesday for his first match up with the Diamondbacks in two years.
