The Cleveland Indians look to get the best of the defending champion Kansas City Royals again on Friday when the teams meet up at Progressive Field.
The Royals have been on a tear lately as they are 8-2 in their last 10 games but took a tough loss on the road against their division rivals from Cleveland on Thursday night and will have to deal with Danny Salazar on Friday. Kansas City continues to be among the favourites to win the American League this season but they do have some competition in the AL Central this year and that includes these Indians, as well as the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers. KC has most of their core back but suffered a tough blow by losing Mike Moustakas for the year and their rotation seems to be missing a piece or two but they are still the champs and no one can take that from them until they are eliminated before or during October.

The Indians meanwhile continue to surprise the masses with how well they have played this season and while many knew they would have a strong rotation it has been their lineup that has stolen the headlines and thi sis without the services of Michal Brantley. Cleveland is a very deep team and have been hitting the cover off the ball this season and while they are just 5-5 in their last 10 games they are coming off a nice win last night and send Salazar to the bump who is 5-3 with a 2.39 ERA and he will face off against Edinson Volquez who is 5-4 with a 3.88 mark.
The Royals are 5-0 int heir last five game two's of a series, 13-3 in their last 16 overall and 10-3 in their last 13 Friday games while the Indians are 12-3 in their last 15 Friday games, 10-4 in their last 14 against the AL Central and 7-1 in Salazar's last eight Friday games. This series means a lot for both sides despite being early in the series and while the Royals have been the better of the two of late I think Salazar gives the Indians the edge here in what should be another tight contest.
