The Los Angeles Dodgers head to AT&T Park to battle the hated San Francisco Giants.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are in need of a prolonged winning streak as the .500 ball they have played the past few weeks won’t be good enough to challenge in the National League West. The Dodgers have lost two of three after the offense struggled in a 1-0 defeat to visiting Colorado on Wednesday night. Kenta Maedo was the tough luck loser with the lone run allowed on five hits while whiffing nine over 6.2 frames. The LAD were held to four singles and a pair of free passes and had few opportunities. Ace Clayton Kershaw gets the ball in the series opener at San Francisco on Friday night. Kershaw was business as usual in a 4-0 win versus the Braves with a three hit shutout over six innings.

The NL West leading San Francisco Giants are looking to build some momentum after snapping a three game skid with a 2-1 win versus the Red Sox. The offense has bee stalling but SF starter Madison Bumgarner held Boston to one run on a solo homer through six innings before five relievers held the dangerous Red Sox off the scoreboard. The Giants managed three hits and a pair of bases on balls with Brandon Belt and Mac Williamson clubbing solo homers. Johnny Cueto toes the rubber in game one of their series with the visiting Dodgers. Cueto comes off of a 5-1 victory at St. Louis with an unearned run scored on four hits in six frames.
The Dodgers are 52-18 in Kershaw’s last 70 starts and are 51-18 in Kershaw’s last 69 starts on grass while the over is 8-3-1 in Kershaw’s last 12 Friday starts. San Francisco are 19-7 in their last 26 overall and are 19-7 in their last 26 games on grass while going 13-5 in their last 18 games following a win. The under is 21-6-2 in Kershaw’s last 29 starts versus San Francisco and is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings. Sometimes I say some games are better to watch then bet and this is one of those times…
