The Los Angeles Dodgers look to build on their win last night against he Arizona Diamondbacks as the teams face off at Chase Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Dodgers head into Wednesday’s game coming off a win last night and they will get their very best in this one as they send Clayton Kershaw to the mound who has been absolutely brilliant this season and is putting up another Cy Young/MVP type season. The Dodgers as a whole though haven’t quite had the year many envisioned and they continue to be among the league’s biggest underachievers over the last few seasons as they always seem to have a World Series roster but can’t get a sniff of the Commissioner’s Trophy as they haven’t been able to generate any success in the postseason. Kershaw is 9-1 with a miniscule 1.52 ERA so far this season and will go up against Patrick Corbin who is 3-5 with a 4.81 mark so far this season.

The Diamondbacks meanwhile have had a tough go of things this season as they have dealt with a handful of injuries and haven’t been able to rally as they sit well back of the San Francisco Giants in the NL West division. Arizona is still in good shape as a lot of their core is young enough to make a serious push over the next few seasons and with AJ Pollock slated to return next year perhaps the D-Backs are already looking ahead to then as their pitching hasn’t quite played out according to plan.
The Dodgers are 1-4 in their last five against the NL West, 1-5 in their last six road games but 53-18 in Kershaw’s last 71 starts while the D-Backs are 5-16 in their last 21 Wednesday games, 0-6 in Corbin’s last six home starts and 3-4 in his last 10 overall. LA are huge favourites here and for good reason as Kershaw is slated for another stellar outing and the Snakes aren’t looking forward to it.
